13/16" - I purchased the universal socket Wayne had suggested in "101 Projects" from Sears with very good results. I had to use a small extension and it worked rather well (the first one is the most difficult until you get the proper feel).

additional clarifying info: the product is a 13/16" Sears Craftsman swivel spark plug socket (P/N 43323). I also sent you a PM regarding the two oil lines that I am interested in purchasing.

I have found that a 3" extension, welded or pinned to a standard 13/16" socket, with a rubber plug holder (this is a must), solves the problem of the "missing" socket and/or missing plug, when you are trying to remove or install. plugs.

The factory plug socket is so great for this that you should try to get one sometime. -Chris
