Let The Chip Problems Begin!
- From a Larry Harris Post 2/25/04:
"Contrary to my worst expectations I believe I have found the source of my smoke problem. This morning I changed the aftermarket chip back to the original. I then dove the car for over an hour, both on the freeway system (80-85mph), and stop and go city traffic. NO MORE SMOKE!!! The aftermarket chip caused the car to run very rich, and bypassed the O2 sensor resulting in an open loop situations." - From a Larry Harris Post 2/15/04: "Go with Steve Wong. I am completely satisfied. Larry" My response: "The problems now start. Leave it to those performance chips! There's always some tradeoff. Wonder whose chip that is?" __________________

Gee, I ran my car all day on Sunday. Ran like a sewing machine. I wiped out my muffler outet and found only traces of carbon which were probably there from a few cold starts from during the week. I pulled a plug Mon eve and it is a pretty tan/grey showing normal mixture.
Loren, Why won't you stop with the na-na-na-na-na Maybe there is a problem with this one chip, Steve W will standby his product and replace it and lets see what happens. Why don't we go that route first before all the finger pointing again. Please lets not start again. I'm heartly sorry if I have offended anyone with my remarks, just to stay PC.

Well, My '87 with a Steve W. chip puts out 213.6rwhp out at the dyno(Yes, I have the sheets to prove it). This is a US stock motor with a cone K+N filter, headers and my own custom exhaust. Otherwise, the motor is untouched with 76K on the clock, 10K being race miles. I think that is pretty good. Please tell me how my chip is hurting my performance.
Cheers, James

Loren...as I said before...there are good tuners and there are bad...there are good chips and there are bad....there are those that know engine electronics and not engines..and those that know engines but not engine electronics....
What's your point... not all chips are like this one.... Oh nevermind.... Wil Ferch
