dome light? i dont have a dome light! i like the list, yes the targa top is going to need to be fixed. everything else you can handle. maybe even the top, but i cant even make a bed properly or wrap Christmas presents. haha. buy it dude.

onewhippedpuppy 03-04-2004 04:08 AM

Dome lights are for sissys! Those precious amps could be used for more HP!:p

FenderGuy 03-04-2004 06:56 AM

I need that dome light to be working when I valet my car at night :D

Danskman 03-04-2004 07:37 AM

I'd say, click on "BUT IT NOW!" :D Great car. Very fair price for an '83 with 91,000. Smart move on the PPI. As with any used car, 10,000 miles or 100,000 miles, there's no guaranty, but now you can go in with confidence and a baseline. I foresee some non-stop smiling in your very near future!

onewhippedpuppy 03-04-2004 07:39 AM

You're going to let a stranger touch your car?! That's like letting a priest babysit your child!:p I shouldn't talk like that, since I'm going to become a catholic. I don't have such worries, in the big city of Great Bend, high class= Applebees, not exactly a valet sort of place.

Seller to let you know?

Why does the seller need to let you know?? I don't understand....Is he selling it or not...........Looks like a great car...

FenderGuy 03-04-2004 07:54 AM

FenderGuy 03-04-2004 07:56 AM

Try telling that to your 915 transmission  $$$$$

FenderGuy 03-04-2004 08:22 AM

I miss a couple of upshifts when i drove the car, i wasn
t use to the 915, I know these transmission have to be shifted right or else. So tell me what damage can happen to the 915 is its not shifted good. Its a question i have had for a while now.

missing shifts, is part of the learning curve. i dont think you can really do much damage unless you were blasting down the road and a missed shift causes your engine to rev to the sky unbridled. i am a crappy shifter. getting better tho.

cliff.
buy it.

ed bates 03-04-2004 09:04 AM

If

If you don't buy it, let me know, I am interested....

Thanks.......

Ed

It isn't just missed shifts that cause problems with the 915. You have to shift them slooowly because the syncro's are delicate. After rebuilding my 915 and replacing all the syncros $$$, I made it a point to pause briefly as I moved the lever out of one gear and into the next. Sometimes I even double clutched just to be on the safe side.

DonDavis is right. I just HATE it when women see my car - especially when they smile and wave. And I really hate it when they stick their heads out the window and yell "Woo Hoo !!" as they drive past me on the highway. Just awful. Dreadful. Unbearable. In fact, I think I'm gonna sell the 911 and buy a Neon.

:p

Just shift a little slower than usual, like Janus said, this isn't a Honda. If you force, you will break stuff. Also, don't get in a hurry and miss a gear, say you're downshifting from fifth, try to get third and end up getting first, then very expensive stuff happens in a hurry. Timing chain jumps, valves hit pistons, and all the girls point and laugh.:D If you worry, get a gateshifter of some sort.
