Also, don't get in a hurry and miss a gear, say you're downshifting from fifth, try to get third and end up getting first, then very expensive stuff happens in a hurry. Timing chain jumps, valves hit pistons, and all the girls point and laugh.:D If you worry, get a gateshifter of some sort.
i think thats what i worry the most about. But i drive a 5 speed now and have always had a 5speed. but i know these transmission are different then others, i think i am just got a paraniod thought of the blowing up the engine from a missed shift

Fender,

I just started looking for a 914 to autocross two weeks ago. I might be closer to buying another p-car than you are. And, good 914s are harder to find than 911s right now. Are really still undecided on that car?

vash 03-08-2004 08:46 PM

fender?

Hello?

FenderGuy 03-09-2004 07:23 AM

Ever heard of the right car wrong moment? things are not looking good right now at work downsizing BS is going on right now, just like it to happen while i found something that is right. Hmm well guys your guess is good as mine. Thats the update sucks for me

azasadny 03-09-2004 07:57 AM

FenderGuy,

Man, I hope you are able to buy that Targa, it's beautiful and you two were meant for each other. Carpe diem!!! Good luck!!!

1973911s 03-09-2004 08:04 AM

There is never a good time to buy a car, just like there is never a good time to take a vacation, just do it. You are buying a car, that if you needed to sell, could sell very easily. Just think of the smile the car is going to put on your face, and forget about the BS at work.

Fender--

I know you don't get much rain out there, but those rips could be an issue just from water getting in from washing. When I converted to the hardtop, all the internal pieces except the outer frame of my top were shot/rusted, and my skin was intact. Not a deal killer, but something to factor in as far as the cost to bring up to snuff if you buy.

vash 03-09-2004 10:55 AM

dude, i hope you dont get downsized! good luck with that. i thought the economy in phoenix was kicking?!!!.

keep us posted, worst case scenario, some other p-person can pick it up. like ed bates.....:)

best of luck at work fend...

Yeah i agree unfixed if i cant have the 911 then someone from the forum should...i would rather someone from here that would take care of the car and i could see it once in a while on the board then just some other person...hows that for being unselfish? so Ed Bates if your out there and want your chance at a great 911 targa that has already had the PPI done I suggest you contact him if i dont buy it, i still have untill tonight to decide, things are not looking so well, i work for a small company so thats the reason for down sizing....hmmm the choices i have to make . it sucks

WesMason 03-09-2004 12:23 PM

Fender...DOOOOOD...This sucks. I hope things look better. What line of work are you in? My company is always looking (Technology).

PPI

Fender, did the ppi all check out....I read you got a copy of the ppi and not original....Also what color was the interior and what is the overall car condition....I don't want to steal the car from you, but if you back out, Im of interest....

thanks! wish you the best.............;)

FenderGuy 03-09-2004 12:59 PM

Wes currently in the life insurance business entry level..its a small family run brokage so you know how that is. I am thinking of changing jobs if its that how its going to be here....
Ed Bates the PPI checked out no head stud issues other then normal wear and tear parts(seats, dash etc) its a very nice car...i am thinking i should just buy it, but that unsecure thought hits me. I hate not knowing if i have job security..I am supposed to call the seller with my finale word tonight so i will still think about it

ed bates 03-09-2004 01:03 PM
