Possibility of 930 ownership???

Check it out... Things have been awefully crazy around my household recently. To make a long story short, things have finally settled down.

Last night I made a comment to the wife about finally studying for promotion. She has been on my arse about it for two years.

The deal:

If I make rank this next cycle, she will allow the purchase of a 911 turbo. I can spend up to $27000.

I am working with the base legal office to draw this up in a legal contract. They ought to get a kick out of that.

I don't want to get into a debate over pros and cons... I love my little SC, but when I calculate how much I'd have to do to get it in the 930 performance range, I think it just makes sense to get the dream car and be done with it.

Yippee!

YES, Turbu World Domination Plot - TWDP

Go for IT. Once you get a shot of that lovely booost, there is no turning back. Your addiction is gonna drive you to new heights, looking for boost everywhere you turn. There are lots of pushers ready to help you with a new fix of additional boost. The base legal officer will eventually help your wife set up a contract for you to join the TBA (Turbo Boost Anonymous)

Careful with that one on ebay. If your wife doesn't let you have any money for mods, that G50 may hold up. But if you do bump up the hp much, you might be eating some gears.

Some 930s ARE basically SCs.....so if he limits himself to the 76-83 years he's cool....

When's the advancement exam? And why are you posting on Pelican instead of studying for it, you slacker! Get on it, or you'll never get that 930! Good luck to ya.

Since I just got married, I am happy to see that you have a cool wife too. All I've been hearing is horror stories about anti-Porsche spousal abuse. Good luck in your studies and go for your dream. It may not be everyones dream on the board, but if that's yours then go for it. BTW boost is very very addictive.

The White 930 that Leland posted in the first link is right down the street from me...I pass it every day.

Car is beautiful and priced right... I was on the lot about a month and a half ago, then disappeared for two weeks...and its been back on the lot for the past two weeks.

Ive been meaning to stop by and check it out.

You have NO earthly idea how badly that ride has twisted me.

I do not consider myself betraying the SCWDP. If you refer to the mission statement, you will clearly see our acceptance of 993's and 930's. In my mind, they are just slightly modded SC's... right??

It's on fellas... I bought a set of study guides and I am actually working on it.

She seems dead serious about it. AND... she didn't even necessarily say I had to get rid of the SC.... she just said "one" of the cars would have to go. Maybe the SC could be her daily driver. Tell me THAT wouldn't rock.

I should have my wife speak to your wife. I just got a promotion and she winds up getting the new vehicle. Go figure. Congrats and good luck on the hunt.

Hey good luck with advancement exams, I'm sure you'll do fine if you put half the effort you did into modifying mufflers and fabricating stuff. Few months of pain for a lifetime of gain! easy tradeoff....

As for after exams, with the 930 you can always start fabbing new intercoolers?......I can see it now, Wayne selling Frankencoolers....
