Carburetor to replace CIS?
Has anyone had any experience with replacing a CIS system with an old fashion American 4 barrel carburetor. Something like the this Holley; http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/FMS/FMSC/0-80507-1.html
Of course this could only be done where emissions testing was not a problem. The big advantage would be potentially a lot of power for very little cost and complexity. |

I saw a setup like that aobut 30 years ago: central plenum chamber, individual tubes to the intake ports and a fat Holley carb on top.
As I recall the owner abandoned it and popped for Webers. Tons of compromise in a single carb setup. That's not where you want to save money.

Good if it used for drag racing or in a sandbuggy. No low end.
