What makes this '74 Carrera look so good?

I realize this is kinda of a stupid touchy feely question but hey who else am I going to ask?
This is a picture from Imagine Auto's web site. I really like the looks of this car but I can't put my finger on how it is different from say an IROC car or lots of other cars with similar front bumpers. It's not the tail (though that is different). Is it just Fikse's and an IROC front bumper?

Those Fikse make it look mean.

don't like that type of tail when used on a non- flared car. I like the color, bumpers & the wheels. The script, & no rubber or rockers look good on the car also. The car has a don't screw with me, look about it. Craig

I read on Rennlist that it's got a 3.0 930 motor in it.

It looks good because

It's low
the wheels fill the wheel wells
the rake is good
it has shed the rugged rubber baby bumper look
it has a proper center mount cooler
I think Bill hit the key points right there.

But I bet it rubs.

The best part about it is the early 911 color.... signal orange. However, I can't abide its not having a porsche crest on the bonnet lid. It looks naked.

I am also with Bill on these with the greatest contribution to effect being how the wheels fit in the wells.

But it's also just the angle of the car in the pic, or better said, a great shot of the way the roofline works with the rear quarter/flare lines. For me, this is what make a 911, well, a 911, coupe that is. I hate to say it because it sounds so cheesy, but this is what designers call "organic."

I am now going out to siphon more water out of the targa after the week of downpours here, or there will be something else "organic" about the car very soon.

I agree it's 1,2,3 and a good photo angle to boot. It would be interesting to see it from a different angle because I always find a turbo tail a bit big on a narrow body. There's got to be some rubbing or a rock hard ride on that puppy! Looks great though.

I think the 911 Turbo tea-tray tail ruins it. Those Fiske wheels look good, but I think wide, 15 or 17-inch Fuchs would look better.

Stunning Car

Different angle, different wing.

Side View

If memory serves me correctly, this car is out of Kansas...or is it Oklahoma? I believe the owner goes by the username "R.Santone" on Rennlist.

Great ride.

The photographer and a good camera? Just a WAG.

Actually, its a great pic - angle, light, context, and an awsome put-together car. Or was it the camera?
