Schuie, I live in the land of farm trucks and tractors. No inspections here!
He does offer a set with a red "turn/tail/stop" and a clear reverse light in the housing. I got them here: www.rwparts.com I talked to Ray on the phone. He was great. The amber lights I wanted were on back order and he sent the housings ahead so I could get them painted with the rest of the car.

Those lights from rwparts are MINE!! They must have bought a set of mine and copied them. I didn't think it would happen this fast, but I guess when you have the best parts its bound to happen.I just wish they would give credit to the designer, "ME" and not make it sound like they did it all on their own.

Mr. Parts, Calm down. I was asked where I got the lights. I answered the question. Period. I buy my parts from the place with the highest quality at the best price. Most of the time it is Pelican Parts sometimes it isn't. I am not a lemming. Sorry if I offended anyone with my ability to make my own choices. If anyone needs me I will be over at http://www.gruppeb.org/forum2/

good lord man, settle down. You obviously re-make a good product but you didnt exactly invent these. I think everyone here goes to Pelican first for parts. I had no idea these were being sold through Pelican and I doubt that Shawn did either before he mentioned another vendor. Sorry for asking.

And I told myself I wasn't going to get in this fight, but I have too since Jim's claiming WWW foundership..hmm you must be a millionaire then Jim, 'cuse that guy won the innovator prize last week! Can I get a Dauer LM for my birthday buddy? (Check out the latest Excellence! )

Anyhow, the housing may be common, but I bet you won't find those LED's anywhere. They are proprietary RWParts LED lights.

And Sherman is spot on....unless somoeone attached to the Porsche organization gets up from their grave and starts posting...now one can lay claim to the R-housing! And a lot of us DO (!) shop with Pelican first.

APConcepts. Ray's lights are nothing like the ones you sell. I'm not sure you can claim design credit for something the factory created 30 years ago.

The housings are a pretty standard item for ANY 911R style lights.

I was party to the entire LED development process with RWParts.com. THe LED's were created and re-designed several times by Ray at RWparts and hearing him agonize about the details of their construction inclusding the style, moisture sealing, connector design, etc.. and can vouch for their originality.

THese are yours:

These are Ray's:

THough it's hard to see, the lights are completely different. Why do you think they are a copy?

Actually, I need to jump in an clarify something. Al Gore invented the internet. Stop trying to take credit, Jim.

You might want to watch what you say regarding the integrity of a Gruppe B'er. We might be crazy. We might not go with the flow. But we have integrity. Unless you were in on the creation of the 911R you didn't invent squat. And if you care to look closer, Ray's design uses entirely different lights.

Hey Guys, I'm not talking about the LED lights.I think I can tell the difference between an LED light and a Hella light.Mine are genuine Hella. I'm talking about the FRP peice.I think it's a compliment when people want to copy your stuff. But those FRPs are a copy of mine or he gets them from Dave and then they would have his business card laminated in the back of it with kevlar around the screw holes.I know my light plates very well and those are mine.All I want is credit for the design of the FRP,nothing else.I don't think JMPRO would like to find his CIS aircleaner on selling on another website with their name on it.

I'm not claiming the R light is my invention,just that version is.

By the way, I'm reinventing the internet so it will be mine too.

911r_parts,

A few things to consider before you go badmouthing people and behaving like a juevenille by posting unfounded complaints on their commericial site:

1)You are not the supplier on the product Ray is selling;
2)Ray has never dealt with you in the past on any product;
3)No where on R&W Parts site does Ray take credit for the design of the panels.

I think you need to deal with the fact that other suppliers are out there and the world doesn't have to come knocking on your door when they need R-replica parts.

You should have dealt with Ray directly regarding your questions and concerns instead of airing your dirty laundry on this site. Just seems like a better way to do business.

...I'm sure Ray can chime in, but I believe he gets the housing from a supplier... may be Dave... ...but as mentioned, he doesn't claim credit for design.

The way I see it, there has been a lot of jumping the gun here. If AR Concept has an issue with what is sold on RWparts.com he should have contacted Ray directly. That would have been the correct thing to do. There are two parties that make parts which could compliment each other very well, but a bit of emotion and lack of communication has gotten in the way.

AR Copncept makes a panel and fills it with Hella lamps which are not made by AR. The Hellas are expensive and not up to par with today's requirements (desired) (ie they are not bright enough!). RWparts makes the LEDs that are designed for the R-panels whether they are AR Concept's, GT Racing, or anyone else's. RW get's its parts from an available supplier that best fits the mission of RW. Who knows where the panel comes from, but RW has never claimed to make that part. If we all knew the suppliers and we were willing to start a commercial account with the supplier, we'd all be in business, but no one would make any money! So we leave it up to those that are willing to spend their money and time to make a little money...

If "911r_parts" were a smart business man, he would retract his comments and look into providing his customers with the LED as an option! The LEDs are a good option...I have seen them on the track in daylight and you can't miss them! They are bright!

All parties need to reflect upon this before things gets out of control. The market will sustain both parts and a cooperative relationship will surely benefit the 911 community...think about that.

Hmmm, logic as a tool. A unique and underused concept!
