ditching the heater fan

I would like to get rid of my forced air heater blower in the engine compartment. More room and looks cleaner with the pre 77 look. Mine doesn't work anyway because it's never been hooked-up (74 tub, so I don't think the lever at the e-brake even has a connection like the later cars).

Can someone post a pic or explain what I need to replace? I.e. fan shroud stuff and possibly engine tins?

Thanks much!

I think the full procedure with parts list was posted on Rennlist sometime ago. I'm pretty sure someone pasted it here as well- just tried a very quick search & no luck but its out there somewhere.

Ohh, that would be awsome. I just hate getting into something and find out I'm missing a simple little part. I'd rather just do it in one shot. Yea, I searched, but just here. I didn't check Rennlist. Never hung out over there.

The parts you'll need:
Right side hot air duct 930.106.321.02
Left side hot air duct 911.106.327.00
Cover plate (left side) 911.106.036.00
Engine cover (left side) 911.106.827.00
Air Duct Support 911.106.331.00
The left side duct is actually made of three pieces that fit togther.
There are a few misc. screws but that is pretty much it.

Sorry, I screwed up my right and left sides. The part numbers are all correct though. 930.106.321.02 is the large duct behind the dizzy. The right side consists of three pieces.

Okay, a little more to add. You will need the heater hoses of course. You will also need a screw for the Air Duct Support, Part No.900.187.015.02. The support and screw mount the right side duct up inside the fan shroud (makes sense once you have 'em in your hands). I bought a slightly longer screw at the hardware store, it seemes to work better. lastly, Two 6mmx1.0 screws for the right side air duct to hold them all together.
Guys, if i forgot anything else, chime in.

Pelican may stock this stuff or perhaps they can get it. I've heard of the parts appearing on ebay in the past and they are still available from Porsche.
Well worth the effort!

All the tin work can be found used. Many times on the pelican classifieds or just by placing a WTB ad there. Unclezak I believe may be advertising some of those parts as we speak.

I just bought both air ducts (used) from Gary at Parts Obsolete for $50. He probably has more.
