Trunk Light Switch Location?

Hi there,

My car was in the panel shop for some minor TLC and it turns out those crazy mixed up fools have not reinstalled the trunk light switch correctly. The light is permanently on which is not a good thing for the poor battery (had to push start it on Friday after work much to the amusement of the office chicks).

Naturally enough, I have pulled the globe but I would like to know where the switch is so I can fix it properly over the weekend.

Any clues? I'm stumped.

Look in the area of the right hand hood hinge(pass. side). I mounts in the hood and contacts the little plate just inside the lip of the trunk seal at the upper right corner. If your car is right hand drive this would be the drivers side.

Thanks 3.2 CAB. Now I know what the little black broken thing is dangling on the end of the earth wire.

Any idea how to reinstall the switch into the hood?

It should have a nut that threads over the housing that sticks thru the metal. There should be a hole it goes thru from the top side, then the nut goes on over what is sticking out and tightened in place. If the button part has come out of the plunger switch, you might need to get a new switch.
