on a narrow (SC) bodied targa? if he hits some bumps while torching the tires, that back window will pop out!

His radiator sits above his engine in a bigger tail that he made - aluminum block / aluminum heads it comes out to the same weight as a 930 + about 50lb for the radiator... It is a very clean install but the weight of the radiator seems like it would have a high center of gravity...

The more 911's get bastardized, the more valuable mine becomes.
I don't understand the mentality of people that do this sort of thing. They are ruining something precious. It's like painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa. |

Nah- that looks like a Z-O 6. The ZR-1 had twin cam four valve heads with Mahle pistons- nice in design, but lousy for ultimate power- the two valvers make more and reliably!

So Dave, is that why you put the 2.8 on hold, stuffing a vette engine into the 914? haha couldnt resist. If your going to that much trouble to stick a big engine into a Pcar why not do something different than american muscle and stick a Ferrari V8 into it, I love that dry raspy sound the 360 makes....

Too modern - Too complex - If you are going V8, go oldschool... Big bore + Carbs

I bet that car has all kind of rear wheel traction. Like having traction bars.

I talked to the owner of the car at a little swap meet a while back. He's a nice guy and he knows it's not for everyone's taste. I believe the pipe coming over the top of the engine is from the blower!

curious how low the oil pan is hanging from the ground. isnt one of the advantages of our oiling systems the relatively "flat" motor?

it is not much lower than the helper spring on the trans - there are a lot of aftermarket low profile wide oil pans out there...

Motor is actually a late model LS-1. Could be a Z06 version which is 405 HP....
Better than the ZR-1...

Now in 993 land ...

This does real well dragracing, I am sure. I do however believe that my SC would eat it for lunch autocrossing. That V8 has the center of gravity about 3/4 of a foot higher than the stock flat six.
To each their own. The car is a showpiece, maybe a dragracer, but for sure not an autocross or DE car. George |
