Where to get my 911 weighed
I've read many posts about getting cars weighed but where does one actually get this done?

Look in your local yellow pages for certified weight scales,
used for weighing heavy trucks loads. You could also try a local scrap metal yard or landfill they usually have scales for weighing the trucks. ![]() |

What they said. However, when at the track for OPC races, Chuck Moreland told me that I might have been able to persuade the tech guys to let me drive my car across the scales if they weren't busy. I didn't do it, should have. I would have gotten the corner weights had I done it.

Stone yards, mason supplies, and larger landscape supply yards all have basic drive-on scales that would tell you the total weight of your car. However, some porsche mechanics 'corner weigh' the car as part of a wheel alignment. They have a scale under each wheel, and can adjust 'corner balance'.

What's important is to find out how accurate the scales are. Resolution of the display is NOT accuracy. Also, ask how often they check the accuracy.
In Oregon, the free log truck scales are checked frequently by the state and are set to within 20 lbs. I always use the same one and try to hit it on days with similar temperatures and when it is in the shade (since many wt. measuring devices are temperaure sensitive). |
