surface rust question
I have replace my front pan, and am in the process of sealing it all in with POR-15 and 3M Rubber Undersealant. I have noticed that parts of the new pan and old metal, along the front have developed surface rust in the void between them. I can see this through the drilled-out spot weld holes. Will this become a rust problem from humidity in the air, assuming this will not be a natural wet spot? I would like to spay some rust deterring solution in all possible voids, but am not sure what is best for this purpose. POR-15 does not spray well, and I am thinking more of a zinc or oil (WD-40). What products / solutions are best for this issue?
TIA, Doug

Zinc will eventually sacrifice itself, and oils in the joints will probably just make a mess. POR15 sprays great, I've used it many times. I thin it down quite a bit with lacquer thinner.

I was starting to think that I should try that. What I need is some type of "wand" that I can drag throught the gap as I spray.... hmmm ....
Who carries POR-15 locally? Ya, ya, ya. I got my first batch from PP, along with my new Bently!!! (pretty cool by the way), but I am ready to seal this f****ker up so I can drive it!

Are you talking about the box that is created in the space between the tank support and lower pan? Yeah you can do that too. Get some more POR - just mail order it from www.por15.com, they ship super fast. Then check out Eastwood - - they have an undercoat gun in there that has wands and flexible tubing for snaking into box sections. It's designed for undercoat but works just fine with POR15.
