The passenger side window hasn't been used for a long while ( approx. 6 months ) - as door card and window switch were removed for other repairs.
THe previous owner had marked each wire ( top, middle left, middle right etc. ) so I am pretty sure all the wires have been correctly fitted to the back of the window switch. I think I could hear a slow regular click comming from the area of the motor - but no movement from the window. The switch for the passenger's window on the drivers side is broken - but once I've made a note of the wires I'll change the switch and see if passenger side window can be operated from that side. The winder motor feels hot - what tests can I do to see if the motor is faulty - or what can be done to lubricate the window mechanism in case it is this that is stuck?? Thanks for any help. ![]() |

Lots of useful stuff on this. Check this post:
Electric window switch wiring diagram Also, i don't think the winder motor should feel hot unless it has been running the windows up and down and even then, not hot. I suspect your wiring is messed up and you have too strong a fuse in the line.
