Porsche Crest External T stat replacement

I've got the 77' external cooler,that needs a T stat,..is there a direct replacment or a repair kit,...Thanks Frank

So are you saying that your car has a thermostat in it which isn't opening and needs to be repaired? If so, you can get a new thermostat cartridge which fits in to the existing t-stat body. Our host, of course, sells them.

Easy, if you can get the old one out. The old fittings can be pretty hard to get into.

This is probably what you need. Available from our host here .

I've been able to grab the outer edge of the cap with a large channel-lock pliers & unscrew it.

Thanks,...I was able to remove the T stat,..is it safe to run engine with it out until replacement arrives....Thanks Frank

huh, no.

unless you connect the two open ends with a loop. and that would be a pain in the arse. wait, you only removed the guts? or the entire TSTAT?

nice job on getting the guts out. i understand the lack of space makes it a beotch. good job!

i dont know if you can drive it like that. you basically took out all the one way valves in the system. so the oil will not go in any specific direction, right?
