acceleration problems
Ok, finally got car on road, but not accelerating ,first goes ok but bucking second and third same will not get up to speed. rebuilt carbs, not sure if adjusted correct?? could mech. advance be bad? checked dwell, timing ok? is their a sequence for timing dwell,idle looked for post could not find anything? while car parked car idles fine even sounds good giving it gas, its when I put a load on it, even taking off in first I have to feather it or give a lot of gas just to get going??? does any one have carb adustment procedures? also looking for porsche mechanic in western mass does any one around here know of anyone.

You need 4.5 psi of fuel pressure to run with webers. Check the air needle if they are too open or too close, and check the mixture screw to be sure they are not too close. I have a '72 911 with webers. I can remember exactly the setting, but I think that the air needles are setting 5 complete turns from close to open position. And set initially the mixture screw setting for 2 complete turns from close to open position. Then check to open a little 1/4 turn or close 1/4 turn. You will need to get the higher rpm of the engine doing that to each cylinder. Then try to synchonize the carbs. This settings may be dont work exactly that I said to you because you live is Massachusetts and I live in the Caribbean and the temperature, level sea and humidity are differents, but try it.
