Missing tranny case to engine nut
Help!
I beginning to put my engine back in the car and noticed that I'm missing one of the 4 nuts that hold the tranny to the engine. Does anyone know what size the nut is that I need to get to replace it? I have a '74 with the 2.7CIS engine. Thanks!

M10 it is. Nothing special about it. You should be able to get one at the hardware store.

M10, course thread. The barrel nut that goes on the exhaust studs works well...
EDIT: Chris B. pointed out an error in my statement: The barrell nuts on the exhaust studs are 8mm, perhaps you are thinking of the 10mm head stud barrel nuts? And Chris is dead on!!! The head stud barrel nuts will work.

I think the transmission nuts are special or at least some of them are. They are M10x1.5 but instead of taking the usual wrench size (17mm) they take a 15mm wrench. The nut on the bottom, left side of the car needs one of these "reduced wrench size" nuts but I think the other 2 nuts can be "normal" ones.

If your patient you can use any of them but you are right they are special if you want to keep the car correct. I used standerd ones on my car except were the starter bolts up
