Franny - The vertical part does fold down, so it stores easily. I do leave the top release handles in. I do not think I have ever removed them.

I did for a while until they fall out during spirited driving

I used to put them in the glove box but when you need them its a job to find them, so I put them under the passenger carpet.

Keep in mind that in the last 5 years I put the top up 4 times, mainly because the other half said I had too...

I drove in sub 32 Fahrenheit a lot of time with the top down. A lot of local P guys think that I don't have a roof under the cover. Well maybe next year project, remove the top enjoy the weight loss and the look of a speedster cover
