Need a DME

Could anyone tell me where I can find a replacement DME for a 1986 Carerra? I live in WV with not much expertise in the local area. I had a local shop work on mine. It would idle great but only went down the road for a mile before burning up some resistors. The shop manager said I need a new brain and nothing more he could do, except flip me a $350 bill for basiclly nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

How about a rebuild? Talk with LorenB (just don't bring up aftermarket chips)

Pelican Parts has many sources for rebuilt Porsche parts including DME control
units. Before you spend your money on another unit, have Pelican send it out
for testing. In either case, call Tom Gould at Pelican and discuss your problem.
Avoid wasting your money, as the Porsche DME unit rarely goes bad.
