Carrera Fog Lights... Better alternative?
I have two broken ones and I was going to replace these but I got thinking...
(1) Amber or white? (2) Replace with Hellas (or other brand) or stay with "factory"? (3) Replace with driving lights instead? Any recommendations?

I have driving lights up front and they're just as useless as the foglights were....IMO.

Or...Hella 450's ...with slight mods to fit...the length and width are nearly OEM, and you can get these in driving or fog-light lens styles.

Buy some cheap driving lights from Western Auto or Pep Boys, they are some brands that looks like the factory driving lights and the installation process are the same without no modifications. I installed one aftermarket diving light kit (by owner request) to a Porsche 911 because some object in the road hit one factory driving light and is too much money to pay for something that can be broken again.

I've had both of mine taped up with black tape for at least 5 years 'cause they were taking rock hits at least once a year. IMO they are worthless unless you drive at night in the country. I've thought about replacing them with air ducts to the brakes or maybe (as suggested above) with something from Pep Boys.

Another view
I've got Hella FF200s on mine. They're not 'correct' or even the right shape, but the standard lights just don't put enough light on the road for my taste.
![]() I just replaced one last weekend (I think I hit the dip at the end of a driveway too fast). I hated being without it.

I use a Stoneguard prod for my headlight lens. It's about 1/4in thick. Pelican Parts made the specific call on which pn would fit my lens. I can only guess that they can find Stoneguard for the fogs.
fwiw, the headlight lens protectors were a bit oner $20.
