I have a 1974 911S, which was rebuilt w/ weber carb conversion about 8 years ago - not much paper work existing.
The car is in great shape and runs very fast. BUT about every few hundred miles the plugs get clogged. Sometimes I will drive it until it cleans itself out, which is not much fun on a few cylinders short. Some other times, I have taken out the plugs and cleaned them. This always fixes the problem, but it's a pain to do so frequently. Any advice/ideas out there? Thank you. Bill

A fouled plug can be from rich conditions or oil.....a compression check or a leak down will tell you if that cylinder has a problem.
Is it always the same one(s)? Runnin g a can of Techron thru the fuel system wouldn't hurt....

Bill,
Sounds like your carbs need to be removed, disassembled, and soaked overnight in Berryman's Chem-Dip. Outdoors, please, and wear a charcoal-filter respirator rated for chlorinated solvents when working around the open container you are soaking the carb parts in!!! A large metal trash can, inverted over the carb parts and tank while soaking might minimize the environmental effects to bystanders such as kids and pets while the soaking/cleaning operation is going on.

What plugs? Some people run a colder plug when tracking the car or in the summer if it's hot. You could have these 'cold' plugs.
