Question Trouble loading Pictures

Have not had trouble in the past (last about 3 weeks ago), but now get an "Error on Page" message when trying to load an image using the "Click here to upload a Photo..." link at the bottom of the page. Image is a JPG and is only 160kb.

Any suggestions???

I have had a problem also. I upload the photo and it says it is finished but it doesn't jump on to the message. Some pictures are fine and I don't know why. I have tried redcing them and re-scanning them but it doesn't remedy the problem. They are jpgs so I know that isn't the problem????????????

It seems there is an occasional server glitch. I was getting an "incorrect format" message repeatedly last week when trying to post a .jpg file. The same photo posted fine the next day.

The max total of pics load was 100kb. I think it still is ?

If a pic doesn't load properly I change the name.

I was told here to not have any spaces between file name and .jpg after name.

I find that a 60kb/300dpi pic doesn't stretch the pic beyond the initial screen.

I scan pics at 300dpi. Others have said 200dpi is ok for a clear pic.

Pelicanhead nostatic can answer any question on this subject I believe.

Jack Olsen has said that photoshop is good for setting up pics before loading in pelican.

I still don't understand how a pelicanhead can load 5 full size clear pics on one reply ? That means 20kb each ? I don't know how to do that.

Wayne has said that the Pelican program may make the pic clearer than if you viewed it on your home computer only. I think I understood that.

Along Ron's suggestions, try renaming the file with regular alpha-numeric characters; no symbols or spaces (although hyphens are usually ok).

After you upload one image, you can go back and upload add'l images. I think Wayne has a help thread somewhere.

Hope this helps,
Sherwood
