I have bumped my breaker bar with a dead blow hammer before. This usually works great.

Jamie is right. A little shock from a steel hammer (forget the rubber mallot..it don'ta do a no goot!) will be just enough to break the corrosion fused surfaces.

Would it hurt to put some wd 40 or other penetrating oil?
Thanks Dan

PB blaster and a dead blow BFH worked for me.

Make sure you use a six point socket!

Probably not a recommended procedure, but I had one bolt I could not get unstuck by banging, penetrating oil or anything else. I used a breaker bar with the shortest socket I had. I positioned the bar parallel to the garage floor and put my floor jack under the end of the bar. Though it was nerve racking and almost lifted the car off the jack stands, the bolt finally turned.
Not for the careful, cautious or the faint of heart.
