Turn signal indicators

So from inside the car both indicators flash so it looks like my four ways are on, but from the outside just the flashers I want are on. I am guessing this means that there is some arcing inside the dash causing both dash indicators to light up? Does anyone have any advice or experience with this?

Thanks

Mike
PS. A photo of my new Winter beater.

I've got the same problem that I need to fix this winter. My understanding is that it is most likely a bad ground in one of the light clusters at the corners of the car.

I believe that indicates that you've got a blown bulb or bad ground in one of your turn signal assemblies. Flip it to one side and then the other inspecting each of your signal indictors outside the car. One will probably not be working and that should zero you in on the culprit to start with.

That was my first guess, so I had the car idling and checked turn signals both directions with the lights on and off and all 4 times, both indicators were flashing inside the car and outside the car everything looked as it should.

Thanks

Mike
