Hey Harold
Congrats on the sale of the car!! I'm assuming you picked up another Porsche?? Way to go. Take Care Tom |
Yep. The coupe is gonna be a race car after all. Robert at lufteknic already saw the targa when I picked up some shifter bushings from him Tuesday. It's just so stock that it's still at that huge USA ride hieght (still has a converter, stock wires, intake). Got some work to do to get it set up for me. Sorry I missed ya at the last pca meeting there. Sure I'll see you at the next one!
Thanks, |
Adam, tell me what you think,
mesurements: Center of wheel to arch of fender F/R 14" F/L 14" R/R 13.5" R/L 13.5" Ground to arch of fender F/R 26" F/L 25.78" R/R 25" R/L 24.78" The drivers side is 1/8 lower front and back from ground to arch, and mesurement from center of wheel to arch, front is 1/2 " higher on both sides over the rear. Curb side it looks like your "after" pic, what are your mesurements? I think my front is about 1/2" to high going off the ground to arch, but right on from center of wheel mesurment. |
Adam,
Who did your work? Mine could use the same thing. Got a name and number? Thanks Joe |
Does anyone know how much a difference in ride height does body weight make? I mean, if they corner balance it with 225lbs. in the front seat how much higher will the driver's side be when they remove the weight?
I ask because the previous owner of my 911 weighed 300 or so pounds and the driver's side is about an inch higher front and rear. I was just wondering if he had it corner balanced for his weight. A fresh corner balance is on my list of things to do but I'm not going to do it until I install the new shocks, turbo tie rods and torsion bars. |

Hi Chris
It's a bit far from you but I had the work done at Francis Tuthill near Banbury. I would highly recommend them from my experience. Paul Green is a pleasure to deal with. I had a service done at the same time. Labour total was 8 hours. I think 5 or 6 was for the suspension at £40/hr. This did include a complete geometry check and adjust, along with the ride height setting. To do the rear they had to re-set the spring plates on the torsion bars. The found the torsion bar covers needed replacing and mentioned that they always weld the nut for the adjustment bolt onto the back of the spring plate so that if any further minor adjustment is required 'it's a 10 minute job' - their words! |
