I recommend an immediate fed ex of the plate back to the NY State DMV to surrender it followed by some pleading with the insurance company.

Does that mean that NY state will not let you take your vehicle off the road for the winter so you save $ and not pay insurance and then put it back on the road in the spring?

You can do that, but you have to surrender your plates to the local DMV office for them to hold over the winter.

I see. I don't suppose the DMV would refund your money since they made you pay for a full year of the registration? Since you paid for a full year of reg, aren't those plates technically yours for the whole year too?
(Damn, I really dislike that beaurocracy.) |

TTOD on street tires. It's important to note: had he opted for slicks, he would have been in the same class.

James & Tyson.....if you send the plates to me I will be glad to turn them in to NYS DMV for you and sent the green slip back to you (James) if you find it necessary.
Congrats on the win, nice driving! James, I'm sorry about what I called Scrappy at Hershey last year when you parked next to me, I was just kidding, just to get your attention. We'll miss you at the beer gardens James! But why Indianna? Disclaimer: there is nothing wrong with Indianna, it appears to be a very nice state.) Mike² ![]()

I am NOT sorry about what I said about James' battery install. the positive terminal next to the fuel tank gave new meaning to the phrase "ignition points."
But the car was a Beaut, cool collar and all. Now spending the rest of its days in Sunny California, far from the potholes and yellow Crown Vics.
