The above color codes are NOT CORRECT for the fuses used in many 911's. I'm referring to the pill shaped plastic or ceramic fuses with the metal fusing element exposed on one side on the outside of the fuse body. The correct code is: 5amp yellow; 8amp white; 16amp red and 25amp blue. Jim

I thought that was a little strange. And was trying to figure out what "mega" fuses were...

The others were more on the line of what I thought.

Thanks guys...

Martin...

Your answer ( be careful next time please !).....still has some benefit to the later 911's.....such as 964/993 application.

The fuses you refer-to are horseshoe-shaped..aka ATO ( also known as "US" style) type fuses.

Cheers,
Wil

Is there any place the panel is laid out in a pic with all of the correct amperages for the box. I don't think any are incorrect, but I'm redoing the panel with newer fuses to get rid of the old POS plastic ones...

I have a Hayes manual, but I don't recall a fuse list. I need to get a Bentley's... So no flames for that one!!!

They are very model year-specific, even cars within a given range ( like the 84-89 Carrera 3.2 series.)

I would use a combo of Bentley, Factory manuals, and a "known" similar model for comparison. When unsure of two different answers...use the lower Amp rating and check deeper.

"Is there any place the panel is laid out in a pic "; the car's owner's manual should have a list of the circuits with fuse ratings and there should also be a chart pasted/molded inside the fuse box cover identifying the circuits (but not fuse ratings). Jim
