cis injection wiring harness

i have a couple ox extra wires that im not sure where to attach, and a couple of sensors on the cis system that are open, so i was wondering if anyone has a cis wiring diagram that would be able to tell me which wire goes where, (maybe a color matching one)

thanks for the help
scott

Scott,

Could you post a picture of the wires and color. Without knowing which wires you are talking about, and location would help, it is difficult to give you any meaningful advise. Then it would be easy to refer to the schematic diagram/s. Thanks.

911lvr, i owe you one, very helpful diagram indeed.

tony, i have two wires both with 2 prong connectors unconnected and 2 ports that fit these connectors on the cis system. i think the two ports on the cis system are on the back of the throttle area

so heres my current situation, there was a wire with a grey 2 prong plug that i plugged into the grey plug on the wamup regulator (im 99% sure about this connection being correct because I remember that same wire having a kink in it before).

I then plugged the only wire with a 3 prong connector (that im aware) into the only thing with a three prong connector that im aware of (which was the back of the throttle area).

I then plugged the black wire with a black 2 prong connector that was on the passenger side of the engine bay into the Aux air regulator (this move was a guess but i just figured it would be color coordinated).

This then leaves me with two wires both with 2 prong connectors and 2 2prong connectors on teh injection system (the ones shown in the pictures above), and these two wires:

as you can see, one connector (the one on teh passenger side of the engine compartment) is olive green and the one on the drivers side is black.

so this means that there are 5 total connections, is this correct?

thanks
scott

CIS engine wire harness.......

Scott,

You should have five (5) similar 2-wire plugs for your '80 SC namely:

WUR (driver side)
AAR (passenger side)
CSV (engine rear side)
AFS (engine rear side)
FV (engine rear side).......for '80-83 SC only.

Which of these plugs do you have probslem identifying?

tony, i thought there were only 4 two wire plugs but i just found the blue one (the fifth)

i have 3 unattached wires( the blue plug one, the olive colored one, and a black one on the passenger side)

heres what i have so far
WUR (driver side) - done
AAR (passenger side) - done
CSV (engine rear side) - not hooked up
AFS (engine rear side) - not hooked up
FV (engine rear side).......for '80-83 SC only. - not hooked up

if you happen to know which color wire goes with which component that would be a great help
thanks for the time and effort
-scott

heres my guess for the remaining three (though i know better then to hook up based on guesses). I would say:

the wire with the blue connector goes to the cold start valve

the wire with the black connector goes to the frequency valve

the wire with the green connector goes to the air flow sensor

as a result of there being two different black 2 wire plugs in the cis wiring, i feel the need to differentiate between the two by saying that the one i am talking about that i think goes to the frequency valve comes from this 6 pin connector by the rear driver's side shock tower
(the black plastic connector is removed in this image)

heres an old picture i have of the motor when it was out of the car about 1 year ago.

my main questing is, to me, it looks like both the plug on the wire and the connector on the are that same light green color, and now, the closest thing i cant find any wire with that color, the closest one i have to it is an olive/dark green. but maybe it is the same plug, my sight is just failing my or something?

The black to the FV, needs to be the one coming from the O2/throttle switch harness. If you plug in a" black" plug to it, and it gets +12v, a hole burns in FV near the plug after a few miles and it sprays a lot of fuel out.

I just posted these in another thread, maybe they will help you. The car is a 1977 2.7L CIS with heater blower removed.

Electrical connections........

Scott,

The two (2) plugs that commonly get interchanged are the CSV and AFS plugs. A quick way to identify or test these plugs is by inspecting the wire colors. The AFS (air flow switch) has 2 brown wires. This is the only plug in your CIS engine harness that has all brown colored wires.

Tony
