1993 C2 A/C Needs Help!
I just acquired a very nice, low mile 964. I seems to have some electrical gremlins that I can use some help with!
The A/C blower stays on full blast, no matter what the settings. The A/C compressor does not pull in, no matter what themostat setting. The fuel guage reads 0 and the low fuel light is on. Is ther a fuse common to all of this stuff? Does anyone have a 964 wiring diagram? I only have up through the '89 Carreras. where is the ventilation system controller? I hated the old ventillation system, but at least is was easy to troubleshoot! |

Open up the trunk and pull off the carpet up by the windshield. There's a black box with metal latches (flip types you see on air filters).
There's your fuse box. I'll scan the fuse box diagram from my owner's manual if you don't have one, so let me know. The fuses for the AC stuff is in the engine compartment. On your old 911, it was a one yellow knob you turned to get the sheild off. In this case, it's a very hard to get at set of 3 little hand screws ( or something, i had to use pliers). Look for blown fuses there as well. I have a problem in that I can't get the fan to blow when I have it set to heat! I'm told by Loren that if the engine blower doesn't work, it automatically shuts down the front blowers. I can get it to work if I change the temperature knob to cold, but then again, if I wanted cold air, I'd just roll down the windows. Still trying to figure this one out.

Surfdwn,
Sounds like your CCU (Climate Control Unit) might be acting up. See if you can swap it out with one borrowed from another car. Kurt B, Is your rear blower working at all? It is true that if the rear blower does not work the front blowers won't work when the knob is set to heat. Have you doublechecked your power connection to the rear blower? Does it rotate by hand?
