Does anyone have contact Information for "Quiet Boom", or if he is still making the Stud Removal tool? his E-mail came back as not valid.

I sent him a PM a few days ago and haven't gotten a reply yet, so I just purchased the tool from Pelican Parts.

Thanks! I'm sure this is a great tool and it would make my life easier but $268.00 - WOW! I'll stick with the tried and true method of heat, penetrating oil and and lots of patience drilling the initial hole. I only work on the one engine!!!

Also, thanks again John for your help a month ago on my exhaust stud removal questions... all worked out fine when I followed your suggestions. :-) Bob

This thing kicks ASS!
I just finished drilling out 2 broken exhaust studs with Christians exhaust stud tool. It took only about 1.5 to 2 hours from start to finish once I set-up, trial fit a few times and checked on my work occasionally to see how I was doing. Heat and penetrating oil!! HA!! Screw that, I was doing that for days and getting nowhere. The $150 was worth it!
I can't thank him enough! I'm very happy now. ![]() ![]() ![]() Simple and VERY accurate. This was made by a true machinist. This tool is SO accurate I could see the threads along the wall of the stud hole when I was done. I simply chased it with a thread tool and the new stud fit perfect!! Christian: cds@akroncoating.com

Maybe a bold question to ask on this thread but does anyone know the inside port diameter for a '82 SC 3.0 ROW? I still have the headers on and plan to remove them 2 weeks from now.
Making something like this shouldn't be a problem, as a friend of mine is a very skilled machinist, see www.apfelbeck.nl for some of our work. With the other dimensions listed in this thread we should be able to make a crude one time use tool. Thanks for any help.

This is the best email to reach me at. I've been out of the 911 hobby these past 2 years while I work on my house and such. I've also added 2 step kids and 2 more of my own kids to the mix with my new lady so they keep me busy too. Anyway I do still make the tools although sometimes not as quickly as I'd like to, my shop time is limited these days. I am working on a shop at the new house with intentions of bringing the CNC home from work so I can run it anytime. Lots to do... The Stomski tool has a lot more features and accessories than the one I make. Credit where credit is due though, my tool is based off John Walker's design and he was instrumental in helping me get it off the ground. Since the original tool I've made lots of advances. I've made them to install timecerts, bigcerts, helicoils. I've got a 3.6 specific tool. Separate tool bodies or interchangeable bushings etc. Anyway the cds email is my work email and I can check it from anywhere. The rsr911 email still works but I can't send messages from it at work only from home.

Excellent tool. I wanted to add to this thread that the stud doesn't need to be absolutely straight. Mine drilled just a little off and it still fits the flange fine. The flange has enough wiggle room for a mistake in drilling.

Purchased this tool and definitely works. It’s costly for one time use for DIY’s. That being said it goes to show you precision tools that work’s great, worth every penny. I can’t imagine paying a shop $$$$ to disassemble the engine just to remove broken studs. Thanks for making this excellent tool. Ariel
