First post...stupid question.

Brand new here..So first...Hello from New Mexico. I own and operate a VW repair/resto shop but own many other types....Corvette, many MGs, many VW of all types and recently purchased a very clean 70 911e for myself and a 75 911s for my adult son. Stumbling around, we discovered in 75 about 1500 were painted silver and had a strange checked cloth interior and were anniversery editions. Also had a plaque on the dash. His has all but the plaque. Can anyone shed a little light on this edition? Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are also on a hunt for a 2.7 for the 75. His has an engine, runs and drives but he feels like he should get another, Thx. Jack

I had one of the '75 Silver Anniversary Targas for over 10 years. Take good care of the fabric on those seats, since it is unobtainable. I know, since I tried for 8 of those 10 years to get cloth for the sport seat (rare, huh?) inserts.

I'd also recommend a 3.0 engine for all the same reasons that everyone else does for these cars; easy, straghtforward swap, reliable and lots more power, esp. with early-style exhaust.

Enjoy your new toy.

I just sold a 75` on ebay . Its just like you describe . No plague on the dash though . The seat inserts were in great shape (sport seats) . But the driver/outer bolster was beat up some . Click on this link below and tell me if this is like yours . BTW I cant believe how much it sold for but Im still waiting to hear from the buyer after 2 days .

pjv911...thx..looks alot like it...son's has a sunroof...but i still like my 70e as it has a/c....good for trips through the desert, and dosen't use as much gas as my Corvette. This winter we're going to restore an old 60 VW 23 window deluxe bus, have had it for years and its time. Also have a nice 69 MGC-GT(6 cyl) and numerous other MGs. ex-upstate newyorker so grew up around MGs.

That 75 was an anniversary edition with a special cloth insert for front seats and the door panels and the rear compartment.

At some time the PO of my 72E retrofitted the doorpanels and the seats of one of these cars to the 72 and it looks like this..

but the whole thing should look like this...a real 75 car

and the plaque should look like this

Nice cars and welcome
