Oh and just so you all know the tail pipes are shorter now. They were way to long

Coupe = Whale or Tea tray

Targa = Duck

Convertible = ...................not sure

Your car looks fine the way it is, most people would kill for it.

This is a fantastically difficult decision. I'm looking at the same thing right now, actually. Same car -- black coupe, even. The whale tail almost seems like overkill, but the duck makes me feel like a retro-poser. In all reality, there aren't a lot of _bad_ choices for a car like yours. The way it looks is great. A duck would also look great (see Jack Olsen's car, for example).

Just my $.02,

Dan

Beautiful car Ben!

IMHO: Duck tails look best on targa's. They take the short, squat shape and beef it up, Cup IIs are also part of the recipe, although certainly subjective.

I'd recommend an early turbo tail which is more like a Carrera, or just a straight Carrera tail. Turbo tails are just too wide for the sheet metal, the only time they look right is on lighter color cars with teh black stoneguards on the flanks.

Early (76) turbo carrera tail (replica with rubber lip, for sale)

Duck

They look great, but the best part about them is the 255 rubber in the back. I had 7s and 8s with SO3 rubber prior to these off a 96 993 with original Pilot SXs.

Absolutely noooooo comparison. I swapped twice when doing DEs and the SO3s are squirmy compared to the Pilots. Not sure if it was the tire or the size, but 17s make the car feel so much more solid and sure-footed.

BTW, I've got 2 sets of Cup IIs, one is collecting dust.

I like both tails. But since your p-car is a non-turbo, I would go with the duck. ymmv
