What would happen If.....
There was a gathering of Pcars on the level of the Motorcycle rallies held in Sturgis....
It would have to be centrally located (US) and at a certain time of the year to allow folks to get there. Near lots of hotels, restaurants etc. I think the closest thing we have is the Hershay Swap meet in PA.

PCA is Florida but in 2005 there is the 50th being held in Hershey, PA.
The PCA parade boasted 600 registrants. Hershey surpasses that number by several times. However, It's mainley an east coast thing. I'm including the mid-West in there but....around 50% of the Pcars registered in the US reside in California. I wonder how many Calif. cars will get to Florida or or up to Pennsylvania....

I’m not sure I would (or want to) compare the Sturgis Rally; http://www.sturgis-rally.com/ to much of anything related to Porsche.
PCA Porsche Parades are great. The one this coming summer is in Hershey, PA starting Friday June 24 and ending Friday July 1. It is the 50th Parade – a big deal. Additionally there is a DE event July 2 & 3 at Watkins Glen. The Parade is very much a family event, a social event, and a series of competitions. It includes a swap meet, TSD rally, concourse d’elegance, tech quiz, autocross, goody store, tech sessions, parties and much more. Every Porsche owner should attend. Info is at: www.pca.org/paraderegistration/ Anyone wanting to go must already be a PCA member ($40) prior to the opening of registration ($150) on January 18. Be aware that the registration fills very quickly. Most intending to go submit their registration postmarked January 18, 2005. Every Parade is over subscribed so timely registration is absolutely necessary. Something good may possibly come from the Sturgis Rally. There is talk of a sports car road race track and lots of Moto stuff, basically paid for by the Sturgis “event.” That would be within a few hours tow from Denver. Best, Grady

Actually, the traditional swap meet usually held in April will be in June of '05 to comemorate PCA's 50th anniversary
