Can you post pictures of before and after? Like the dirty engine from all sides?

I will...the engine is in rough shape....I will be doing the following:
Changing about every gasket New muffler New heat exchangers Cleaning the c_ap out of it New clutch and other stuff.... ![]() What do you think about the fan? I have never had any overheating problems...and would like to keep the original Carrera five blade fan...

A lot of people have changed the fan to an 11-blade, but....it's up to you. When you say:" The engine is in rough shape" meaning burning oil? Low CR? Valves? Are you doing a top-end rebuild? Or the whole thing? Are you going pre-74 with SSI heat exchangers? What type muffler? Do you have hydr. chain tensioners? You'll find out if you have Nikasil or Alusil P/C. Have fun.

Sorry, I meant it was filthy, needs fuel hoses, vacuum hoses, cleaned, things like that....it actually burns little oil to speak of...and does not visibly burn it...I ill adjust the valves and replace the seals and gaskets where I can, but I don't think it needs a rebuild. I will have a lot of it apart and make a decision...

Cool. I did my first drop of a Porsche engine last year. Goes pretty easy, doesn't it?
Drop me a line if you need assistance at some point. I am just north of you, near Clio. Wayne

The tilting does not look very safe. I would get a lift before I go for it.

Any comments about the ease of engine drop using ATV jack vs. conventional jack.
I need to pull my engine to address oil leaks and I am leaning towards an ATV jack. |

If you have a friend to balance it, the conventional jack works fine. At least it did for me. It would be difficult alone. I built a dolly out of 2X4's with one of the boards high enough so I could slide the jack under. That worked best.

I never had a ATV Jack. I have always used 2 large conventional jacks.
