Definitely. Check out my message above where I made this suggestion.
How did you set the ignition timing? It's not uncommon for there to be multiple problems, but a pinched hose would be enough. Enjoy the ride!

Acutally, I'm going to do the timing this weekend just to make sure. I said I replaced the dizzy...not true. I meant the cap only.
There's no lettering for the timing. Just notches. How do I know which to set it at? Book says 26 degree BTDC @ 4000 RPM with hose disconnected. Is this both advance and retard hose? What notch? Thanks. I'm almost there.

If you look closely at the crank shaft pulley, there will be a Z1 mark on the pulley corresponding to Top Dead Center (TDC). If you can not find a Z1 mark, look for two notches within five degrees of each other and one of those is probably the Z1 mark.
If you have an adjustable timing light, set it to 26 degress and line up the Z1 (TDC) mark with the notch on the bottom of the fan shroud @ 4000 rpm. If you don't have an adjustable timing light, there should be a mark on the crank shaft pulley corresponding to 26 degrees. Probably at about 1:30 if the Z1 mark is at TDC (12:00) on the crank pulley. Simply line up the 26 degree mark with the notch in the fan shroud while at 4000 rpm. Remove both vacuum lines.
