Help with 2.2 MFI Motor
Through some horse trading, I have a complete 1972 2.2 motor with MFI system. The motor has been sitting for a number of years (5+) and the condition is unknown. The motor will turn over by hand.
What would be the best way to determine the condition and to clean out the MFI system? I could build a stand to "bench test" the motor. Anything to do to the MFI system to clean it?

Jim,
First off, if original it can’t be a ’72 2.2. It can be a ’70-’71 2.2 or a ’72 2.4. What is the S/N and Type number stamped on the case? Do you know any history? Most important, don’t assume anything. Dismantle it completely and build from scratch. Without that, you will probably destroy a perfectly rebuildable 911 engine and loose what you paid. Start with a plan. Gather information first. Search the Forums for info, then disassemble and measure everything. With full knowledge, devise a new plan. What do you want to use the engine for? Best, Grady
