Thermoswitch Part Number

Sorry to ask something I know has to be in the archives, but after 30 min. of searching, I give up.

Can anyone tell me the part number for the lower temp. (210 F) thermoswitch for the Carrera-style external oil cooler? One post said its a Sachs part used on a BMW.

Does anyone happen to remember how they hooked up the temp sensor? The old sensor had a single wire and a ground wire went to a ground lug on the cooler. Does it matter? Two leads right to the new two spade thermocouple? Or do you need a jumper to the ground spade? Thanks!

I crimped the second wire to a lug and put it under an existing screw as a ground.

Thanks. Do you have an OEM thermoswitch with a single connector, or a dual prong FAE switch like pictured on this thread?

I have a 2 pin. It is a BMW part I used to get a lower set point.

Hey Scott, do you have an open spade on your switch?

It has been many years, but as I recall it has two male spades. I crimped a female spade onto the existing wire for one connection. I made a short wire with female spade on one end and round lug on the other for the second connection.

Yes and once you wire that puppy up it’s super hard to see what you did! Sounds like you made a little jumper wire from 2nd lug on switch to the cooler ground lug.
