Engine #--where, also air cond name

Im looking over my engine and found a number. 64G00542. Is this the engine # and if so, is it for a 86 Targa? Its on the right side of the fan housing, vertical. Also, on my air conditioner pulley, the word Nippondenso appears on it. Made in Japan. It looks like a factory set-up, but I didnt know Porsche used any jap parts. Thanks for any reply

Yes, it's the engine number and does match for a '86 Targa. I do believe Porsche used NipponDenso for the compressor.
