Ball joint question

I just finished building my RF wheel - new rotors, rblt calipers, tie rod ends, wheel bearing, hose, blah, blah, blah The very last thing I did was to get under the car and toghten down the ball joint nut.

As I'm doing this, I notice there is no tabs on the ball joint to attach the star shaped washer and cotter pin to! I know I should have noticed this before now, but perhaps they broke off during the build.

Anyway, what I did was apply threadlocker blue to the threads of the nut and tightened it up really tight. I thought I could maybe figure out a way to attach the star shaped washer w/o taking the ball joint out and buying a new one.

Anyway, my question is this: Does anyone know of a way I can attach the star shaped washer to the ball joint? I *really* dont want to take the whole thing apart.

Also, do you guys think the threadloacker will be OK to hold it if I cant find a way to attach the star shaped washer? Seems like threadlocker would be at least as good as that little washer and tiny cotter pin.

Thanks!

Those tabs and the large 'star' washer make for a pretty solid locking mechanism.

I'd vote for some sort of mechanical locking solution... maybe wire it up somehow?
