lighted key disassembly

time to change the battery .....how do I get into this thing (without breaking)?

There is a notch on the side of the key head that needs to be depressed. That will open up the whole key head. Do it over a table - there are several small parts inside, in particular a small metal strip that completes the circuit when you depress the button. Make sure that the strip hasn't come out of its place. You may find that the battery is good and all you need to do is reseat the the strip.

Or you could leave the battery, spring and cover off for a Light Weight key.
