Help Disassembling the Throwout Lever

How do I disassemble this? According to the books photos and catalog, there is supposed to be pin that holds it together. That doesn't appear to be the case with mine.

Do I use some combination of heat, chemicals and brute force applied with the BRH (Big Red Hammer!)? If so, how is it held back on once I'm done?

That picture contains parts for both 911 and 930 in the same illustration. The turbo set-up is different from 911. The "extra" parts are ones not for your application.

The clutch release cross-shaft should rotate or slide freely from clutch release lever under normal condition. If that thing is stuck as you mentioned, apply some penetrating oil.

He're some of the methods you could use. (1). Push out the shaft using a hammer and a block of wood. Heat application might be needed. (2). Use a gear puller to push the shaft thru. (3). And finally, use a hydraulic press to slide the lever out.

Some have the pin, some don't - at least some SC's and Carrera's for example
Pentrating oil and a 2 arm gear puller should do the trick.

The solution was PB Blaster and the Big Red Hammer. It was almost too easy. BRH is becoming my favority $3.99 tool. Works well for certain installs too!
