Tensioner Update, How to tell if done?

I am looking at an 1983 SC how can I tell if the chain tensioner update was done? the owner doesn't know and he owned the car since it had 80k and now has 125K.

Look for two oil lines coming from the chain covers

There will be a line coming off the cam oil lines going through the front of the timing covers. You can see what they look like in these pictures:

An updated SC will have 1 oil line to the front of each timing chain cover. Hope this helps. Photos are in the archives.

You could always ask the seller if the tensioners were upgraded.

Would you buy a car from a PO who doesn't even know if the tensioeners were upgraded?
