Talking Front Swaybar Shootout

Ok what is the best swaybar for the money?

TRG - 22.9mm , 23.8mm , 24.5mm - $525.00

Smart Racing - 20mm , 23mm , 27mm , 31mm - $675.00

Elephant Racing - 22mm - $475.00

Tarett Engineering 22mm - $475.00

Hmmmm. Elepahant and Tarett are same product...

Anyone want to guess what swaybar and rate would be best for my 911 Air Ride suspension project??

Racers Group:

Smart Racing:

Elephant Racing:

Tarett Engineering:

I'd also like to know if Tarett and Elephant are one in the same? They seem to have the same products at the same price.

Also add Kanna Motorsports to the list $490.00.

Call Smart or TRG and ask em what the extra money gets you over the competition. The TRG looks a lot like the ER but the Smart is much different looking. There might be a reason.

Edit I was looking at the wrong Smart racing bar, the all look very similar. I cant help you there but I would still call.

SmartRacing lets you change out bars larger or smaller and also front to back. Once you get the hardware, they are around $130/each. Buy good ones, it only hurts once.

What do you get out of a larger diameter ( stiffer ) sway:
Less roll I know, but what else?
What are the trade offs??

CM hex stock
Flange mount ball bearings

Elephant sells the Tarret swaybars. Chucks' (Elephants) main product that he designed is the bushings for the control arms and swing plates. His are the best bushings out there bar none in my opinion. He also makes a strut brace.

You could build your own sway bars but it would take some trial and error without a machine to measure the spring rate of the bar.

If you want a low cost alternative then you could get the Weltmeister setup. They work but they aren't as nice as these products. They sometimes bind and make noises.

The Tarret seams like the best bang for the buck out there and Pelican sells them so it's a good way to go.

What about Tarret vs. the Smart Racing bars?

I guess the Kanna bars are out of the question?
They seem to use alot of the same features of smart bars.

SRP has a better geometry, look and you will see the bar drop link attaches to the A arm in a very different manner

I have been thinking the same thing so no direct experience.

However, SRP advertises "correct geometry" so that the drop link/bar won't bind. I did witness a friend's 911 where the TRG drop link bind & snap on track. Haven't heard anyone broke SRP. But then that's only 1 datapoint.

Todd, not sure about where it bind. But the drop link essentially snapped @ one of the ends so an indication that it came to a bind at some point.
