993 Brake pad shims question
I was wondering what function the brake pad shims provide, are they needed? these are the round ones that go on each brake piston. I am installing 993 brakes on my SC and the calipers didnt come with them so I am wondering if I should spend the $80 to buy some or just skip it.
thanks

Skip 'em. Like yelcab said, they're just anti-squeal items. Plus, they tend to stick to the pads making removal of the pads quite difficult.

I bagged the spiders on my 993 brake set up - the pagids squealed but the Porterfields (r4s) didn't (from advice on the board) and stop great too.
