Side mirror offset

I'm fairly new in the Porsche scene. I've owned my 911 since December 04. Each day I learn more about the car. I find that the 911 design is actually very simple. It's simplicity is it's strength. Anyway, I was admiring my car after a good wax job and noticed that the side mirrors were not aligned. I began to worry that one of the doors may have been changed and that whoever installed it didn't do a correct job of installing the side mirror.

I then sat in the car a look at both sides from the inside and realized that this set-up may have been on purpose by the designers. I took a look at a couple of my porsche books and soon realized that this was normal. whew....

Yes indeed it's true.....one is offset to the rear a lot more than the other...on purpose.
