electrical problem + no start
Yesterday when I wanted to pull into my garage my 911 76 refused to start.
The battery is ok and lights work, but when I turn the key nothing happens. Now, here is when the strange thing comes on, when I press the brake pedal the tachometer needle move up to top RPM. WHAT"S GOING ON??? Thanks

Any ideas??
More on it. When I turn the ignition on. If I touch enything electrical (e.g. power windows, etc) the RPM needle moves. No idea is this is related to the no-starting problem but it doesn't seem normal. Also, if i push the car, it starts and everything seems to work normal. Please HELP!!!

Last week there was a similar thread on pinpointing the cause of this same symptom. Could be:
Battery Starter Solenoid and/or starter Ignition switch Circuit connections to/from any of the above. Tach jumping could be normal under the circumstances. Concentrate on the no-start symptoms first. Sherwood |
