				Engine tin seal question

71 911T- I'm in the middle of a partial engine drop and have a question about the rubber seal that meets the engine tins to seal off the upper engine bay. Should the edge of the tins go between the two flaps of the seal, or does it just come up from below and contact them both together? Hope I explained that right... I think they where sandwiched before, but I never knew if that was right. Thanks for any help.

They don't sandwich. Tin just makes contact with the bottom of the seal.

I'll say thanks to both of you. I will be putting my engine back in this weekend and a similar question had crossed my mind.

oh well, I sandwiched mine. I doubt it can hurt anything as long as it seals the top from the bottom.

I think you're right Neil. It made sense to me to sandwitch it since the rubber has the two flaps, but I damaged mine trying to get part of it over, and part under. Like you said, I guess as long as it seals, it shouldn't make much difference.
