A narrow band (ie: normal) O2 sensor only tells you if you are richer or leaner than stoic mixture.

A wideband O2 sensor actually tells you air fuel ratio mixtures.

With a turbo, knowing that the mixture is rich may not be enough for optinal tuning. You may want to know what the air fuel ratio actually is.

Also note the O2 sensor should be place AFTER the turbo, because increased pressures in the exhaust causes errors in the O2 sensors readings.

EDIS is Electronic Distributorless Ignition System. It uses a tooth wheel that is mounted on the crank to determine when to fire the spark.

Cheers,

Irnwill,
Is that a distributerless Ign you are running? If so, Where can I get one for a 79 3.0?
Tony I will be ordering a system from you in a week or so, this thread will save me alot of time. What is required of the laptop to run your program?
Oscar, Bang up job on that airbox.
Mike

Laptop needs to have a serial port, be a Pentium I or better, running Windows and a floppy drive is handy for transfering files.

I should be squared away. Thanks you will be hearing from me soon.
Now that I take a second look, Irnwill must be running a later engine than my old 79.

This guy sells a pretty good crank trigger setup

I also bought some items from Brian

These guys sometimes run items through Ebay for less $

bb-how's this turbo setup working out for you? I'm thinking about doing the same to my 2.7.

BTW, if your laptop doesn't have a serial port, you can get a USB to serial adapter, no problem.
