				Help With Wiper Wiring Sequence

I reinstalled my wiper motor assembly today. I am not sure of the wiring sequence. I took a guess, based on the relative postions of the wires in the wiring diagram.

![]() Position 1 - Black/Yellow Position 2 - Blue Position 3 - Black/ Purple Position 4 - Red/White The ground wire was obvious and is underneath the wires in the photo. When I switch on the wipers, I get nothing with the stalk clicked up one notch. In the second notch I get normal wiper speed with no return to rest position when the stalk is moved to the off position. In stalk position 3 I get nothing. Can some one give me the correct wiring sequence so I can avoid having to play a guessing game? |

Tom, there should be numbers at each of the connectors... Just wired my '74 a few weeks ago... 5 wires all together.

Green to 53i, red/white to 53a, blue to 53e, black/yellow to 53b and black/purple to 53... My connector is different... Turns out my 74 motor was burned... Got one from a mid 80s Carrera and connector was the same. Don't know what year is your car. Hope this helps some... Look for the numbers. Lou

I'll have to take the wiper assembly out to see the numbers. There are no numbers visible looking through the clock hole in the dashboard. I was hoping someone could save me the trouble.

PS...Yes I know that I should have thought of this before I installed the wiper..Live and learn. |

Doesn't anyone have an old wiper motor laying around that they could check the terminal numbering for me?

BTW it's a '73.5 911T wiper motor. I'm going to try the old "mirror under the motor" trick to see if I can get the terminal numbers before I remove the motor. |

Never mind guys. I found this disassembly photo in my archives. I was able to figure things out from there and wipers now work fine.wu
