http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1115342780.jpg Under the bright lights of the paint booth. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1115342854.jpg Normal indoor light in the same paint booth. That is the color's flop, silver to blue. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1115342439.jpg |
From polar blue/silver to deep sky blue depending on the available light.

Previous threads detailing the work over the past 4 months.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=212438&perpage=10&highl ight=build%20continues&pagenumber=1 I have wondered at times if it was worth the wait. I was lucky enough to have a buddy loan me one of his 911s when I went into convulsions or I would have never made it through the winter ;) Thanks Alex, I owe you big time! No question my answer came today when I stepped into the paint booth. It was worth the wait. Mark and crew at Eurotech here in Kirland WA have done an amazing job beginning to end. I couldn't be happier with their efforts and suggestions. Chipped and dyno tuned, 280 rwhp, '95 3.6 with CUP cams and a custom exhaust goes in this weekend. Interior looked like this 4 months ago. It has also been totally redone but in a very similar color scheme as this. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1115344722.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1115342439.jpg Paint is a Glazurit blue metallic. Close to the older gemini blue or newer zenith blue. |
sounds very simular to the engine Tyson is building for me. good luck!
|
James, come on now let's have the details of that new engine?
Going into the cab? |

1995 993 engine, balanced, head work, cams, case cleaned up, arp rod bolts, ti retainers and springs, steve wong custom chip... not sure what the HP will be, don't care really, it'll be fast enough
|
Beautiful color and paintwork!

,,freakin sweet man! |
Fingers crossed...
|
You'll have to post some pics next to Gemini and Zenith when you're done.
It looks to have a more "pearly" quality than they do - very lustrous and beautiful... maybe it's not too late for me to change my mind on Gemini.... |
Nice car! I just completed my brown to blue project on my car too. My 87 is now Bali Blue from 1964.
Before http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1115355970.jpg And now... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1115356011.jpg |
Randy there were two cars in Gemini blue at Monterey over last weekend. It is a very close match to my paint just a bit less "pop" to Gemini.
Be hard to tell the two colors apart unless they were sitting side by side. Here are the two cars from Monterey, both Gemini blue that matched side by side. This is one car in harsh late afternoon sun. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1115356222.jpg This is the other car in early morning light. Good flop to Gemini blue. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1115356271.jpg My Glasurit blue under bright overcast.. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1114289126.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1114289160.jpg Shaded natural light.. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1114289449.jpg So many blues to pick from. Take a look at the Glasurit color chips. Hate to see two cars the same one off color. |
Thx - BTW, which East side? of the Cascades? If so, how far north? I wanna see that car...
|
I'm in Issaquah and should be on the run over the 21st.

Simply stunning, Dane!
I can't wait to see how the finished product looks! |
Good God...that is the most beautiful color I've ever seen on a Porsche!
|
Thatīs a hugely attractive color ! Was it offered as an original color by Porsche or did you come up with it yourself ?
Very nice ! Markus Carrera 85 Sweden |
At first I was disapointed that you did not do the fuel filler through the hood but now I see it would not really fit the personality of the car. Beautiful Dane, very tastefully done.
|
I think at this point you've done all you can do (and multiple times too) to that car.
When you get it back together? You better just drive, drive, drive, drive............ and enjoy the hell out of it! :p |
